Here are some ideas to escape the stress of everyday life for a weekend, from the vineyards of the southwest to the calanques of Marseille, passing through Brittany.

Whether by the sea, in the mountains, in the countryside, or in the city, we all dream of disconnecting from daily life for a weekend. Today, there are many offers that allow you to discover certain regions during a short getaway.

Brittany and its specialties

Brittany is a region highly appreciated by visitors. Rennes, its capital, is a lively student city and a very popular destination for a short city break. The city is full of many tourist walks and delicious restaurants. You won’t be able to resist the call of the famous Breton crêpes accompanied by a bowl of cider.

The Bordeaux region and its vineyards

The Bordeaux region has many vineyards and therefore many wine cellars where the greatest vintages are hidden. Bordeaux is a magnificent city, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its recently restored quays offer a beautiful walk along the Garonne, best done at night when the illuminated buildings are reflected in the river. The southwest is also well known for its gastronomy, so why not stop in a wine bar to taste foie gras toasts with a small bottle of white wine?

Provence and the calanques

Provence is an idyllic region that makes many tourists dream. For a short city break, Marseille promises a complete change of scenery. Known for its pétanque and pastis, the city is rich in specialties and good humor. And just a few kilometers from the city is Europe’s first peri-urban national park: the calanques of Marseille. You can reach this little natural wonder on foot, offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean.
