Moving home in London
Packing up your whole home into a van can be daunting so we’ve put together a handy
packing guide to help make sure your belongings are all stowed safely and securely for the journey. After all, you don’t want to get to your new home and find your precious favourite lamp broken or a box of smashed plates!
If you’re a first-time mover, or if you just haven’t done it for a while, you might find our
hints and tips on planning a move useful.
Once you’ve managed to fit all your belongings in the van, the next challenge is driving it across London! Don’t be nervous – just follow a few golden rules:
Plan your route in advance and ensure it avoids any roads unsuitable for large vehicles.
If you’re planning a stop-off, beware of car parks with low entrances.
Allow extra space for turning and parking.
Slow down, particularly in windy conditions if you’re driving a high sided vehicle.
Allow extra space for braking in a fully loaded van.
You may not a have a rear view mirror, or your rear view may be obscured by your load, in which case you will need to rely on your wing mirrors.
So now it’s time to get on the road and enjoy the trip!
